Sharing his long-time experience in communication and editorial design, our speaker, Mr. Sebastien Millot from the Studio Yukiko, Berlin, led us to recognize the roles visual design can play in the publishing industry nowadays. It helps us break away from the traditional conception of graphic design as a mere “craft,” and realize its repositioning in the industry and its agency of possible influence as visual design. From a different perspective, Mr. Millot’s talk relates to the fundamental question of this course, Arts Publishing, what is “publishing?”
